Frequently Asked Questions
Counselling FAQs
Here are some of the most common questions clients ask before starting counselling. Can’t find an answer? Get in touch →
What happens in a session?
Each session offers a confidential, supportive space to explore what’s happening for you. I’ll listen without judgement and help you make sense of your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.
How long is a session and what does it cost?
Sessions are £60 for individual counselling, and £90 for couples counselling, and last around 50 minutes to an hour, allowing flexibility to finish naturally.
How many sessions will I need?
There’s no set number. Some people find a few sessions helpful, while others choose to work together longer term. We’ll review regularly to make sure it continues to feel right for you.
Do you offer online or phone sessions?
Yes. You can choose between face-to-face, online, or phone sessions — whichever feels most comfortable and accessible.
What’s your cancellation policy?
I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Sessions cancelled with less notice may be charged in full.
Is counselling confidential?
Yes. Everything you share is confidential, except in very rare cases where there’s serious risk of harm or a legal duty to share information.
If I’ve been before, can I come back?
Absolutely. You’re welcome to return at any time. Many clients come back when new challenges arise or when they’d like some extra support.
How do I book a session?
You can contact me by email or phone to arrange your first session. I aim to reply within 24 hours during the working week.
Still Have Questions?
